Demonstrated ability to:
• Motivate, train and provide technical sales support for established network of manufacturer’s sales representative agencies as well as further expanding the manufacturers’ rep network within the territory
• Develop, support and execute direct sales opportunities generated by the company’s marketing activities as well as develop new missionary sales opportunities in both the new construction and retrofit markets. Direct sales experience selling to commercial and industrial property owners and managers a definite asset.
• Motivate, train and provide technical sales support for a growing network of system integrators, value added resellers, contractors and national accounts headquartered in the territory.
• Conduct basic energy analysis and auditing functions as support for sales proposals based on energy savings and ROI
• Participate as an active member of the sales team and foster an environment of cooperation and collaboration with the company’s engineering support teams
In light of the identified responsibilities, the following are specific deliverables that the position is designed to achieve.
• Top line sales growth – 2008 - 2009.
• Sales pipeline growth relative to existing pipeline
• Recruiting and training of new manufacturers’ reps to include key geographic markets identified within the territory
• Recruiting and training of new resellers and system integrators within the territory consistent with the companies targeted profile
• Maintenance of budgeted levels of gross margins
The following indicates specific industry, academic and functional experience/qualifications that are important to the successful achievement of the identified responsibilities and performance deliverables.
• Direct sales experience in the lighting controls or building automation sectors
• A proven track-record in developing and managing multiple indirect sales channels as well as managing high level national account direct sales
• Proven ability to aggressively drive sales and grow top line revenues within a highly entrepreneurial environment
• Must understand the culture of a rapidly growing, small to medium sized technology focused company
• Experience in selling to the commercial construction sector and an understanding of the construction process as it relates to engineering specifications and bid and tender processes
• Experience with energy auditing and modeling and product sales based on energy savings, sustainability and ROI
• Post-secondary education ideally with a mechanical or electrical engineering background. MBA would also be an asset.
